Rübben, Hermannjosef (1928-2017) Germany

Hermannjosef Rübben was a chorister in the Aachen Cathedral Choir. After graduating from high school in 1949, he studied musicology, English, pedagogy and philosophy at various colleges and universities.
In 1959, he was appointed Professor of Methodology and Didactics at the School Music Institute of the Cologne University of Music.
In addition to conducting numerous choirs, including the „Männerchor Bayer Leverkusen“, the „Kölner Männergesangverein“ and the „Männerchor Germania Remscheid“, he led choral conducting seminars in the region. He also served as a member of the Music Committee of the German Singers' Association (Deutschen Sängerbund) and as the State Choir Director of the North Rhine-Westphalia Choral Association (Landeschorleiter des Chorverbandes Nordrhein-Westfalen).
He was honored with, among other awards, the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, and the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Hermannjosef Rübben was the composer of numerous compositions, primarily choral works and folk song arrangements for all choral genres.
