Nebe, Nico (*1968) Germany

Nico Nebe attended the special classes for musical education in Zwickau from 1983 to 1987, followed by studying choral conducting at the University of Chemnitz-Zwickau from 1989 to 1995. Since then he has been acting as a freelance musician, conductor, composer and music publisher in Zwickau.
He is a long-standing conductor of the chamber choir "Belcanto" Zwickau and of the male choir "Liederkranz" Zwickau 1843. Under his direction, both ensembles have won numerous prizes and diplomas at national and international competitions. In the context with these competitions, Nico Nebe was repeatedly awarded several conductor prizes. 
As President of the West Saxon Choral Society (Westsächsischer Chorverband) he has been closely linked with the choral work in Saxony since 2002.
In addition, he regularly serves as a juror at national and international choir competitions, leads choir coaching sessions and choir conducting workshops in various federal states and is a lecturer at choir conducting seminars.
In 2016, Nico Nebe was awarded the title "Choir Director BDC" by the Federal Association of German Choral Societies, a prize for outstanding artistic achievements to especially successful choirmasters.
He served as state choir director (Landeschorleiter) of the Saxon Choral Association from 2019 to 2024. In 2021 he received the title “Music Director FDC” from the Professional Association of Choral Conducters.
