Renner, Axel (*1971) Germany
Axel Renner was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt (now Chemnitz) in 1971. Beginning with the age of 7 he received musical education (classical and modern piano) at the Chemnitz Music School. In 1982 he joined a pupils’ orchestra playing the piano for 5 years. Axel Renner also started accompanying various choirs on the piano, which he practises up today with great pleasure. After passing his Abitur examinations in 1990, he studied music and English at the University of Chemnitz-Zwickau to become a teacher at a gymnasium (higher general type of school) for both subjects. He has been working at different schools ever after. Since the years of his studies Axel Renner additionally has been singing in several mixed choirs, e.g. in the university choir, the Chamber Choir “Belcanto”, or as member of the men’s quintet “Die Pantoffelhelden” (“The henpecked husbands”). He has been adapting various songs for different vocal ensembles in classical as well as popular styles for many years now.
